Two Afghan lawyers in Puli Khumri, the capital of the country's northern province of Baghlan, were killed in a bomb attack, the latest in a string of targeted killings in Afghanistan.
Provincial police spokesman, Ahmad Jawed Bashart told RFE/RL that a bomb planted into a car detonated after the two lawyers from the Baghlan Provincial Court, whose names were not made public, got into the vehicle near the court building, on October 16.
The motive of the deadly attack is not clear and so far no one claimed responsibility.
On October 14, the governor of the southern Nad Ali district and a police officer were killed, and six policemen were injured in an ambush by Taliban militants in the country's southern province of Helmand.
