Country Report on Terrorism 2021 - Chapter 4 - Terrorist Safe Havens - Sudan

Sudan’s extensive and porous borders and physical location continue to make the country a potential gateway for linking violent extremist activities in the region.  Though Sudan has in general endeavored to tighten its border control measures, continued illicit and unmonitored movement across the borders is likely.  The results of the autumn counterterrorism raids surfaced primarily foreign terrorists, speaking to terrorists’ continued ability to use Sudan as a logistical and facilitation hub.

The government was not known to support or facilitate the proliferation or trafficking of WMD in or through its territory.
